Our Denominational Affiliation

We belong to the Evangelical Presbyterian Church
(EPC), denomination.
Being part of the EPC denomination has several
benefits:
-
Membership in the denomination assures us that our church will
faithfully and consistently preach and teach the essentials of
our faith. Both in the short term and down through the years.
One example of how this is accomplished is the educational background
and basic beliefs which the EPC requires of our pastors before
they can be ordained and installed. The biblical example of protecting
the essential beliefs of early Christians against the intrusion
of false doctrine was the work of the Apostle Paul and other apostles
as "denominational advisors" during their travels among the churches
of their day, through their letters to the churches, and through
the deliberations of he early church council in Jerusalem (Acts
15).
- As members of the larger denominational group, we can
participate in Christian endeavors which are too large to handle
on our own. For example, we can be a part of an aggressive program
of new church planting and foreign missions.
- We can exchange
ideas and experiences with other EPC churches, thereby helping
each other to accomplish the work of the Kingdom.
"In essentials unity, in non-essentials liberty,
in all things charity." EPC motto
