Helping the Hurting in our Community
"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure
and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their
distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."
James 1:27
"I was hungry and you gave me something to
eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger
and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was
sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit
me... I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least
of these brothers of mine, you did for me." Matthew 25:35-36,40
This ministry exists to facilitate the Fellowship
of Christ family in the exercise of the gift of helps, through the
expression of scriptural support and loving care to the community
who are experiencing urgent emotional, physical, and spiritual crises.
Presently, we have a prison outreach headed by Geri Williams.
In the past, we have aided in the aftermath
of disasters such as Hurricane Floyd. Also, various groups within
our church have reached out to the elderly by visiting nursing homes.
If you would like to "do unto the least of these"
through one of our present ministries, please choose one of the
links above to find out more. If God puts on your heart a burden
to minister through a different avenue to those hurting in our community
and you want to do that from within FOC and ask others to minister
with you, please contact Pastor Gary to help put the ministry in
place.
