Soup Mix Jar Preparation Day

Our Care Platform and House of Joy are hosting a “Positioned and Prepared to Respond” soup mix jar preparation event on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 12:30 - 2:30p, in the sanctuary.

The jars of dry soup mix can be stored long-term and prepared easily with the addition of water in case of a food-supply shortage or other emergency. One quart jar makes 4 quarts of soup, the equivalent of 16 servings.

The cost for participants who bring their own sterilized quart jars is $2 per jar to cover the soup ingredients (split peas, lentils, barley, rice, pasta, and seasonings). If you cannot attend and would like House of Joy to prepare soup jars for you, the cost is $5 per jar.
