The Nuts and Bolts of Godly Grandparenting

As grandparents, some of us have bought the cultural lie that we are inconsequential in the lives of our children and grandchildren. This lie tells us to retire to “Leisureville.” It tells us that, if we want a relationship with our grandchildren, we need to provide expensive presents and fancy trips. Nothing, however, is further from the Truth. Our grandchildren are being fed all sorts of lies from the world today. What if we could make a difference in shaping this next generation?

Join Sherry Schumann, president of the Christian Grandparenting Network, as she digs into scripture and uncovers what the Bible says about our role as grandparents. Discover what it means to leave a gospel-shaped legacy. Learn practical ways to share your faith stories with your grandchildren, offer them the gift of the spoken blessing, and commit yourselves as prayer warriors interceding regularly on their behalf. We will also gather information about how you would like to support each other in this most important ministry.  

Snacks and drinks will be provided. We are offering a box lunch option for $10/person. If you have food restrictions or prefer to bring your own, you may do so. Q: My grandchildren are older teens and young adults. Is it too late for me to have an influence on their lives?

A: Absolutely not. Sherry, our presenter, will definitely cover that challenge.

Q: I've had a close relationship with my grandchildren for many years. Is there anything more I could learn or do?

A: There may be some different twists presented on thinking about your role and legacy.

Q: My children have different beliefs than me. How can I have an influence on my grandchildren while respecting boundaries set by my children?

A: Sherry will definitely address this issue. It has come up at her past conferences.
